Steady Witness
Copyright and DMCA Policy
Effective September 5, 2026
Reporting copyright infringement
Steady Witness respects intellectual-property rights. If you believe material available through the service infringes your copyright, submit the notice below to our designated copyright contact. A valid notice must identify the protected work and reported material, provide sufficient contact information, and include the required good-faith and accuracy statements and an electronic signature.
What happens after submission
- We create a restricted legal case and acknowledge it with a reference number.
- An authorized administrator reviews whether the notice contains the required information and locates the reported material.
- When appropriate, we act expeditiously to remove or disable access and notify the affected user.
- We preserve the case history and record the outcome. We may reject notices that are incomplete, fraudulent, or do not identify material we can locate.
Counter-notices
If your material was removed or disabled because of a mistake or misidentification, reply to the notice sent to you or contact copyright@steadywitness.com with the case reference. A counter-notice must identify the removed material and its former location; state under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed because of mistake or misidentification; provide your name, address, telephone number, consent to the jurisdiction required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(g), acceptance of service from the original claimant, and your physical or electronic signature. We may forward the counter-notice to the claimant and restore material when legally permitted.
Repeat infringement
We may suspend or terminate accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyrights, taking account of valid notices, counter-notices, retractions, and the surrounding circumstances. We accommodate applicable standard technical measures and do not knowingly interfere with them.
Misrepresentation and privacy
Knowingly making material misrepresentations in a notice or counter-notice may create legal liability. Information submitted through this form is used to investigate and administer the claim and may be shared with the affected user, claimant, service providers, legal advisers, or authorities as necessary. Do not submit passwords or payment information.
